Gates at Lock #15

These are the lock gates on the Peak Forest Canal at Marple.

A flight of sixteen locks raise the canal more than 200 feet over the course of about a mile.

A contribution to The Weekend in Black and White.

  1. That many locks will be needed to get the job done with that kind of height difference.
