I just had to check out the Victoria mailbox. Is it typical for them to be flat inserts in a building while the Elizabethan mailbox is a stand alone unit?
There are various kinds of postboxes from the free-standing ones (including some doubles) to flat inserts to small ones like this one. All boxes carry the moniker of the monarch who was reigning when the box was installed so you'll find most types for all the different monarchs.
Great shot ~ Love the mailbox for RTT ~ thanks ^_^
ReplyDeleteI don't think we identify that way anymore. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely historical find! It's good to know they are still around.
