He died in 1789 and is buried in ST MARYS churchyard.Eric Michellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05376173098812485683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5416355814637119956.post-83986922517822715732014-09-11T13:14:31.438+03:002014-09-11T13:14:31.438+03:00I like it Gerald, but are the "Underbanks?&qu...I like it Gerald, but are the "Underbanks?" The artwork hints at the tales of extraordinary events that have occurred in the market place over the years. You can see the ghostly image of Castle Mill, Stockport’s first water powered mill built in 1778, Jonathan Thatcher, a local farmer riding his cow to market to protest against the horse tax in 1784 and the launch of a hot-air balloon in 1827. Strawberry Recording Studios founded in 1968, that brought big names in the music industry to walk over the markets cobbled streets, when they came to record their classic hits, is also suggested.Gerald (SK14)https://www.blogger.com/profile/18308693910074268386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5416355814637119956.post-81536251577740474952014-09-11T10:17:21.429+03:002014-09-11T10:17:21.429+03:00Jonathan Thatcher, farmer.Jonathan Thatcher, farmer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5416355814637119956.post-28217584053471010032014-09-11T04:45:51.945+03:002014-09-11T04:45:51.945+03:00That's so cool. That's so cool.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16361781616939928650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5416355814637119956.post-42340396317815298102014-09-10T23:49:31.932+03:002014-09-10T23:49:31.932+03:00There must be a story about the guy riding the cow...There must be a story about the guy riding the cow.
